Recently, Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) has become the necessarily important question which the modern corporations can not but face, and also a hot issue to explore in the profession of the theory and practice as well. Due to its profits-making, and inadequacy of legal supervision and responsibility, most of enterprises have gradually neglected the CSR, which causes quite a few social events that are irresponsible and even harmful for people’s life, what’s worse, not good for the development of harmonious society in a long run.As it is known to all, the state-owned enterprise has been playing a key role in the development of economy of China since country’s liberation. As the state-owned enterprise in China’s economic life, dominating the main community, its production will have the same behavior of the non-economic nature, to the workers of state-owned enterprises, the ecological environment, consumers, the public and other shareholders, and the legitimate interests of different degrees of damage. Moreover, state-owned corporate social responsibility is the strong need of sustained and healthy development, and an important component of the building of the harmonious socialist society.The thesis is trying to find out the feasible ideas and concrete measures that Chinese state-owned enterprises can take when exercising their CSR. First, the thesis has made the comprehensive analysis about the CSR at home and abroad and the current inadequacy of CSR. Secondly, the thesis has specifically analyzed and evaluated the theory of the CSR of state-owned enterprises of China and pointed out the importance of its necessary obligations to CSR. Third, by using the method of case study and providing the statistic data, the thesis has pointed out several current problems the state-owned enterprises have when exercising the CSR nowadays. Fourth, through the comparatively study of the developed countries’implementation of CSR, such as Japan,America and Germany, the thesis has found out the useful insights and measures that state-owned enterprises can think about and learn from and even take when exercising their CSR. Finally, based on the relative theories and research results above, the thesis has tried to propose several feasible and concrete approaches to improve state-owned enterprises’capability to exercise its CSR, which is one significant part of China’s fulfilling its harmonious and scientific development in the coming future.
