The research of heavy ion collisions can be traced back to themiddle of the1950’s, the reaction of heavy ion with different targetcross sections has been applied to many fields, such as aerospaceengineering, biomedical sciences, material testing and radiationshielding etc.By utilizing stacks of CH2targets sandwiched with CR-39detectors(TD-1), which were exposed normally to800A MeV28Sibeams, total charge-changing cross section and Partial chargechanging cross sections have been measured, respectively.compared with the predictions using the Bradt-Peters semi-empirialformula and the NUCFRAG2modles, the experimental results of themeasured total charge-changing cross sections are basically inagreement with the theoretical model of prediction and otherresults within the experimental uncertainties. Meanwhile, obviousodd-even effects appear in the partial cross sections of fragmentproduction. In addition, the scattering angle of the primary particles and theemission angle of the secondary particles are also studied. Theexperimental results show that emission angle of the secondary particles greater than the scattering angle of the primary particles,The average secondary particles emission angle decreases with theincrease of the fragments charge number Z.
