| In recent decades, investigation of nucleus-nucleus collisions andfragmentation at intermediate and high energies causes wideattention of physicists, and plays a huge role in many fields. Forexample: the detection of cosmic rays, shielding design forspacevehicles and therapy for cancer treatment.Interaction of678A MeV28Si ion beam in C target is studied usingthe CR-39solid etched nuclear track detector. The totalcharge-changing cross-section and the partial cross-sections forprojectile fragment production and the scattering angles of678A MeV28Si and emission angles of projectile fragments after C target arecalculated in the present work. The experimental results show thatthe total charge-changing cross-section is consistent with otherexperimental results at close energies and the predictions ofBradt-Peters semi-classical formula and the NUCFRG2model withinexperimental error. The partial cross-sections of projectile fragment production are consistent with other experimental results and showsan obvious odd-even effect. The emission angle of projectile fragmentincreases with the decrease of the projectile fragment charge. |
