In the exploitation of heavy oil, the question of sand production is inevitable whether using steam injection thermal recovery technology or limited sand Cold Recovery technology. Although limited sand Cold Recovery technology can reduce mining costs, increase production, and has good economic benefits, serious sand production will give a great deal of harm to the normal production of the oil field, such as pipe blocking, equipment damage, shorten well lifetime, reducing well productivity, destruction stratum structure, causing discontinued seriously This has brought huge economic losses in oilfield. Monitoring sand production of heavy oil wells can make to understand real-time case of sand production and to develop a reasonable governance sand strategy, this will be better to control the sand production.How to determine the amount of sand production and predict sand situation is one of the key technologies in limited sand Cold Recovery of heavy oil and also a technical problem. Firstly, this peper form an effective viscosity reduction method suitable for the monitoring of heavy oil sand production through the study of heavy oil viscosity reduction method. The thesis mainly study non-contact measurement methods of sand sinal detected based on piezoelectric sensor. Through a large number teses, a kind of sensor used piezoelectric ceramic PZT4.4as sensitive materials is developed for detecting ultrasonic signal generated by collision of pipeline fluid sand and pipe wall, while the paper analyze the characteristics of the sand signal, establish a theoretical model and calculation method about the relationship between the the sand signal and the amount of sand. The same time, the paper also design a indoor experimental system of sand monitoring, the system control the flow rate of fluid through the inverter, screw pump, as well as a reasonable pipeline designed, effective simulate the sand production of oil and gas wells, detect the flow rate of fluid in pipe used the Doppler flowmeter or the mass flowmeter. The paper carry out sand production monitoring experiment with different amount of sand, different fluid media used the system and achieve good experimental results that verify the reasonableness of detection method ane the feasibility of the model. This provides an important reference for in-depth study of sand production monitoring technology in heavy oil.
