With the drop in strata pressure and the development of oil field, flowing productionmethod had been come into mechanical oil extraction method. Among so many mechanicaloil extractions, Progressing Cavity Pump(PCP) system has been widely used by its uniqueadvantages. The core of PC pump system is the composition of rubber stator and metalrotor, among which the stator rubber liner is especially important. The efficiency andlongevity will be directly restricted by wear behavior of rubber stator. There are manykinds of rubber stator. Taking into consideration of material property, cost performance, well condition and many other factors, the materials for making rubber stator are nitrilerubber (NBR) and fluororubber (FKM) in domestic market.Crude oil is consisted of many components. Customers should provide oil sample oflocal oil field and manufacturers would choose the relevant the formula of rubber stator onthe basis of components of the oil sample and corrosive medium in oil sample. Crude oilalways contains liquid paraffin. The different contents of liquid paraffin in crude oil havechanged the density and viscosity of the crude oil and the wetting angle between crude oiland stator. Then they have influence on the friction between stator and rotor. Therefore thisdissertation analyzed the influence that different contents of liquid paraffin in crude oil onthe flow behavior of stator and rotor, and then researched the friction and wear of statorrubber in different conditions. Thus it could provide theoretical support for sustain materialof stator rubber in real working condition.Wear behavior of nitrile rubber (NBR) and fluororubber (FKM) was investigatedusing a reciprocation and wear testing machine under the various paraffin contents crudeoil (0%、10%、30%、50%、100%). The wear morphology of blend was analyzed throughthe stereomicroscope and the wear behavior of two blends was also discussed andcompared. For comprehensively providing for the choosing of stator rubber, this paper alsoinvestigated wear behavior of NBR and FKM using the testing machine under different loads. For simulating real working condition, this paper soaked the NBR and FKM forthree days to do the wear testing, and wear behavior of NBR and FKM before and afterwas discussed and compared.
