The thesis mainly introduces the N-heterocycliccarbene-palladium(Ⅱ)-1-methylimidazole [NHC-Pd(Ⅱ)-Im] complex catalyzed Hiyamareaction and direct C-H bond arylation of benzimidazoles involving aryl chlorides, which can be divided into two parts:(1) A well-defined NHC-Pd(Ⅱ)-Im complex was proved to be an efficient catalystfor the Hiyama reaction of a variety of aryl chlorides with aryltrimethoxysilanes. Underthe optimal conditions, all reactions took place smoothly to give the correspondingcoupling products in moderate to high yields.(2) NHC-Pd(Ⅱ)-Im complex was found to be an efficient catalyst in the direct C-Hbond arylation between benzimidazoles and aryl chlorides. This is the first example ofNHC-metal complex catalyzed C-H bond arylation of benzimidazoles, thus enrichingthe applications of NHC-metal complexes in organic synthesis.
