In recent years, the steady growth of copper consumption of China, traditional production level of copper electrolysis cannot satisfy the demand of market. In the sixties and seventies, European and American developed countries increased the utilization rate of upgrade machinery to replace the labor input in all processes, and carried out a low consumption and efficient mechanized production road of copper electrolysis. With the development of technology, many domestic smelting enterprises also begin to research the mechanized production of copper electrolysis, among which the assembly of cathode plate possesses the highest level of mechanization. It takes only8seconds to assemble the board,conductive rods and lug into a cathode plate. While most enterprises still apply the traditional manual oblique edge shearing production to manufacture the lugs of cathode plate, thus making it difficult to keep up with the production demand of assembly unit of cathode plate. The production high efficiency and quality of lug will directly influence the operation efficiency of automatic assembly unit of cathode plate, so it is very necessary to manufacture the lugs in a mechanized way instead of the traditional oblique edge shearing production.The shear machine which can meet the efficient production of lugs was designed to coincide with the production of cathode plate assembly unit. After the comparison of current situation of shearing machine, the disc type of shear machine was adopted for the automated production of lugs. Analyzed and elaborated the key parameter and the structure of the disc type of shearing machine, and established the three-dimensional solid model of the disc type of shearing machine which can conform to the high efficiency production of lugs using Solid EdegeV20. At the same time, through the research of the working principle and the shear mechanism of the disc type of shearing machine, the finite element analysis model of the copper disc cutting machine was established by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Conducted the simulated analysis of disc cutting machine with explicit dynamic finite element method, and obtained the changes of stress-strain of the shear zone, the plastic strain regularity of the shear process and the distribution of residual stress of the shear joint region, And analyzed of the influence of overlap. side gap and the thickness of shear parameters affect on shearing quality. Finally, Identify the better shear parameter combinations suitable for the lifting lugs industrial production for orthogonal experimental design.Based on the study of disc shear process, designed the disc type of cutting machine which can conform to the high efficiency production of lugs. At the same time, analyzed the different deformation of sheets in the shearing process by finite-element simulation which is expected to provide certain scientific basis for the setting optimization of process parameter for the actual production.
