Presently, coal mining work is mainly done by hand. When human errors or naturaldisasters happened, the accidents could be terribly threatened to human safety. Besides, itwould be difficult to rescue the trapped workers when the precise location of them was notmeasured. Consequently, collecting the precise location of workers and managing workersefficiently become more and more important. Especially when the disastrous accidentshappen, rescue team can arrive to the places of trapped workers on time when the preciselocation information is acknowledged. However, because of the special environment of mine,there are no good methods to get the precise information of mine workers.In respect of the requirements about wireless communication with special environmentin underground coal mines, the technique requirements of the underground personnel locationin coal pit is analyzed. And based on TD-SCDMA enterprise network, a locating scheme onthe strength of the angle of arrival and the time advance was put forward. By using intelligentantenna technique in TD-SCDMA system, the Node B can easily get the angle of arrival ofUE and the distance from UE to Node B according to the value of TA in the measurementreport submitted by UE, so as to achieve the miners’accurate position.Finally, this paper successfully completed the software compiler and transplantation ofthe application and the testing of the hardware and software as well. After the test inaccordance with the test cases, we got the result as expected. And then, we tested the scheme in the simulative tunnel for four times in order to obtain the integral test data. Throughanalysis and comparison of the test data collected from the simulative tunnel, the resultsindicate that this scheme can effectively improve the positioning precision.
