Long-term since, it has been a lot of research on the purification method of carbondioxide but less research on the distribution of the concentration of CO2in coal mine refugechamber. In this paper, in order to study the gas’s affect to the chamber, the distribution of theCO2of the chamber is simulated by use of the software of Airpak, which is based on theconsideration of the impact of body to the heat convection field, which can give a guide to theoptimization design of airflow organization in order to improve the air quality, create a safeliving environment, reduce the energy consumption and operation cost.In this paper, on the computational fluid dynamics and numerical heat transfer theory, aphysical model of one coal mine refuge chamber is established, and, the three-dimensionairflow, temperature fields and contaminant distribution in the chamber were calculatednumerically by k turbulence model and combining with wall function method. Under thecondition of the chamber temperature less than35℃and the mass fraction of CO2not morethan0.5%, we make a research on the distribution of the CO2of the chamber and make anoptimization on the system parameters to get a less energy-consumptive and more economicaldesign.The results show that:①In the horizontal direction,the CO2concentration increase withthe distance farther away from the air supply outlet, which is shown that the CO2concentration is gradually increasing from the crew compartment to the equipmentcompartment, while, it is symmetrical on both sides of the crew compartment; in the verticaldirection, the CO2concentration is more dense from top to bottom, the change of which isobvious in the crew compartment but well-distributed in the equipment cabin.②The velocityand temperature of the air outlet has a great effect on the CO2concentration in the room, bothreducing the velocity and increasing the temperature can make the CO2concentration greater, while, the effect of the former is greater than that of the latter.③Taking into account thehuman body comfortable request, the air velocity is not as high as good, it is best to set up to2.5m/s.④Under the condition of no effect on the human body amenity, the higher speedand the lower temperature of the air outlet can lower the CO2concentration, which isbeneficial to the life and health of the people trapped.In this paper, it is shown that the result by the method of numerical simulation on theresearch of distribution of CO2can provide technical support for coal refuge chamber in outcountry, which is benefited to make the rescue of the mine accident scientific, reduce thenumber of accident deaths and make great economic and social benefits.
