Using Universal Length Meter Measuring The Pitch Diameter Of Tapered Thread Gauge

Along with the development of the market economy of our country， not only thedemand for taper thread is growing at home and abroad market， but also the requirement ofaccuracy is become more highly. Under the current technology condition，the detection meansof straight thread gauge has been relatively mature， but the detection of tapered thread is adifficult problem has always plagued the world machinery. The traditional measurement oftaper thread is not only inefficient but also the accuracy of measurement is not high. It can befar meeting the present needs of enterprise production.The purpose of this research is mean to find a method detecting the single pitch diameterof the tapered thread gauge on the basis of the existing equipment. In this research we need tostandard the measurement accessories, operation method and ensure the accuracy of taperedthread gauge to provide a judgment to judge whether the thread is qualified or not，in orderto meet the needs of the batch testing taper thread.In this paper，we finally determined the measurement methods through compassion withthe traditional measurement methods. We adopted “three stitch” and “double ball method” asthe basic measurement method.Measurements were carried out in a Mahr PLM600-2precision universal lengthmeasuring instrument. We not only measured the tapered ring gauge and the tapered pluggauge， but also given the measuring steps in detail in the paper. In addition， this paper fullyillustrates the feasibility of this method by making uncertainty evaluation of the measurementand making comparative analysis of the measurement data.When the detection method of tapered thread gauge is determined，we can solve theproblem that tapered thread gauge can’t detect in this province. It can solve a series ofproblems due to tapered thread gauge can’t be tested. It makes great significance.
