Coal spontaneous combustion threats seriously the safety production of the mine, notonly secondary disasters can be caused but also can brings about enormous waste of resourcesand loss of property. The particularity of caving mining technology which makes the "sides"top-coal releasing rate of the thicker coal seam low, causing the heritage of the coal mined-outarea is more, and the ventilation of open mode, which makes the air leakage phenomenonserious, that is easy to cause fire.The spontaneous combustion of the floating coal in the goaf is needed urgently to solve,which directly affect the mine safety production of working face. This article regards the11A601working face which is a new coal time as the research object, starting from the natureof the floating coal itself in goaf and the influence of the environment, analyzing the coalspontaneous combustion rule, then divided the dangerous area of the coal spontaneouscombustion. Firstly, it used the coal spontaneous combustion experiment whose type isXK-III to study the process of the coal spontaneous combustion, then determined the coalspontaneous combustion’s characteristic parameters, such as the exothermic intensity, theoxygen consumption rate, the characteristics of temperature and combustion time. Secondly,it got the goaf float coal thickness, oxygen concentration and air leakage intensity distributionthrough the field observation. Then building mathematic and physical model of goaf seepageon the basis of the data of the experiment and field and using fluent software to achievenumerical simulation, concluded the seepage velocity and oxygen concentration distributionin goaf. Thirdly, using the judgment theory of spontaneous combustion dangerous areacombined with the numerical simulation and in-situ observation data, obtained thespontaneous combustion dangerous area in goaf as well as the extreme speed, then comparedthe predict of the ignition in goaf with the actual results and validated, that used in mined-out area and provide the basis for prevention in the end. Finally, based on theory of nitrogeninjection for fire extinguishing, combined the condition of working face, couple backed andadjusted the nitrogen injection parameters, then analyzed the effect of the nitrogen injectionfor fire extinguishing, that in order to better guide the site fire prevention work.
