Once large angle, long distance belt conveyor broken belt, falling or because thebackstop is caused by the failure of reverse accident, would destroy the conveyer belt machine,damage to equipment, blocking the transport tunnel, long production and great economic loss,even casualty, grave consequences. So in recent years of conveyor belt problems arousedpeople’s attention, should actively prevent, as far as possible to avoid breaking accidents, andto take certain protective measures, when the broken belt protection device can timely,reliable braking slipping belt, avoid to cause malignant accident, causing heavy economiclosses.In this paper, with big dip angle and long distance belt conveyor broken belt problem,analysis of the belt conveyor broken belt catching device research and belt conveyor brokenbelt mechanism. Design of a hydraulic broken belt catching device system, a hydraulic brokenbelt catching device installation distance calculation, sliding force calculation; the design ofthe hydraulic system, comprising a hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic pump, accumulator, oil filter,fuel tank type design; the hydraulic broken belt catching device control system design. Inorder to study the hydraulic broken belt catching device to capture regularities, conveyor beltwork condition analysis, established hydraulic broken belt catching device brake processmathematical model, using Simulink software for hydraulic broken belt catching device brakeprocess to carry on the simulation analysis, validation of fault belt seizor basically achieve thedesign requirement. The simulation model is calculated at different pressure and mounting number of broken belt catching device for braking time, under different conditions of brokenbelt catching device design has certain reference function.
