Roll forming is one of the most important forming methods of producing householdchina, and the rotary roller head machine is a forming machine which is widely used in theceramics factory. With the continuous improvement of the quality of ceramic products,instead of being used to rolling the mud into the earthen brick, roller head machine is usedto form the products which meet the present quality standard, which includes both theoutside quality requirements of surface smooth and no vibrating trace and internal qualityrequirement of seed.For this reason,roller head machine ought to have the trait asfollows: running smoothly and steadily, high precision, accurate running trace, havingforming force in the process of forming, forming force equality and so on. So numericallycontrolled reform in roller head machine can not only simplify the structure of wholemachine, reduce the manufacturing cost but also have wider adaptability and steadyprocessing quality,it is positive for enlarging variety and enhancing efficiency ofproduction.First of all, this paper analyzes the current situation, working principle andcharacteristics of the roller head machine, proposes the necessity of making numericallycontrolled reform, and designs PLC electric control system of roller headmachine.Electric control system of roller head machine consists of roll head controlsystem, model roller control system and roll forming control system.In order to meet thedemand of monitoring running condition parameter of roller head machine,human-computer interface based on touch screen was designed. For improving the workefficiency and work reliability of roller head machine availably, the professionalknowledge of PLC tech、fault diagnosis method and sensor technology has been appliedsynthetically, and make observation system of roller head machine to have determinateintellectualized level and function of log monitor, trouble alarm, prompting and so on.After understanding the theory of roll forming, roll forming speed adjustment system hasbeen devised. According to the model roller motor, it has set up the mathematicalmodeling of roll forming speed adjustment system. Using the SIMULINK workbag which is provided by the soft MATLAB, roll forming speed adjustment system has beenconverted into dynamic model which can be computed. At the same time, computersimulation is finished too. According to the simulation result it analyses the dynamicperformance of roll forming speed adjustment system, and gets the salutary conclusions. Itis the control system which includes concrete frequency with vector control and PLC hasmany advantages such as high reliability, strong anti-jamming, assembly agility, easyprogramming, convenience and low cost etc.
