The near-infrared camouflage coating, which can accurately simulate near-infrared spectra ofplant leaves, against hyperspectral remote sensing detection technology, is significant for the survivalof military targets in the battlefield. In this paper, we revealed the lack of traditional camouflagematerial, proceed from the detection principle of hyperspectral remote sensing technology, systematically researched the design, preparation and spectral properties of the near-infraredcamouflage coating. According to the production mechanism of the near-infrared spectra of plantleaves, we designed and prepared the near infrared camouflage coating. We selected and preparedappropriate resin matrix based on the principles of near-infrared spectrum absorption] and bandsvest. As a result, the near-infrared camouflage coating which possess similar near-infrared spectrum toplant background was successfully obtained by employing the preparation and optimizationtechniques. In addition, we also investigated several factors which might influence the property ofcoating spectrum. The obtained research results were listed as follows:1. Considering the near-infrared absorption spectrum principle and the formation mechanism ofplant reflectance spectra, we find out that water is the key factor which influence the response ofcoating near infrared spectral, However, C-H bond is not conducive to the spectral properties of thecoating and we should try to reduce the relative content of C-H in resin.2. Based on the requirements on the matrix for the NIR camouflage coatings, the NIRspectroscopy of different resin matrix were studied, a novel resin matrix was prepared by employingthe fluoride with a bit of-C-H groups as a monomer, the NIR spectroscopy of coatings was improvedby adding pigments into the resin matrix, and a FPU resin with a good performance of spectroscopydesign was chosen as the resin matrix of the NIR camouflage coatings.3. A kaoline/PAA-AM super-absorbent resin was prepared by using an solution polymerizationmethod, and its good properties of water-absorbent and water-protection explores the possibility toaccompany the NIR spectroscopy simulation to plant leaves. The influence factors on thewater-absorbent and water-protection, including the initiator and the degree of neutralization, werestudied systematically, and the optical technological condition was obtained.4. According to the resin-based near-infrared camouflage coating preparation techniques andoptimization process, we successfully prepared a camouflage coating with near-infrared absorptionspectrum that similar to plant leaves. This kind of coating is expected to become an effective method against modern spectral reconnaissance.
