Research And Application Of Workflow Management System (WFMS) For Foundry Enterprises

With the increasing complexity of business processes, foundry enterprises which arefacing the fierce market competition and personalized customer demand, must depend onworkflow technology to optimize business processes and restructure resources in order toimprove their competition ability. Based on the enterprise business process, workflowmanagement separates specific business process into multiple tasks or roles, executesthese tasks according to certain rules and procedures and monitors them real-time.Through these, workflow could improve work efficiency and business management level.The complete function of workflow management system should contain process modeling,process simulation analysis, process optimization, process management and integration,etc. However, the application of workflow technology in foundry enterprise is still inExploration stage at present. The workflow management system is designed anddeveloped based on the business process of foundry enterprises，hoping to bring theadvanced concept to the foundry enterprises to help them improve their processmanagement level.First, this paper analyzed workflow concept and the process development. Then thenecessity of applying WFMS in foundry enterprises was stated.Second, WFM related theories were described in detail, which included workflowtechnology related concept, system architecture, system reference model, modelingmethod.Third, this research analyzed the system requirement by UML method after clearlyunderstanding workflow technology and business process. It mainly contained Use CaseDiagram, Interaction Diagram and State Diagram.Fifth, the system was designed according to the overall demand analysis, whichincludes two parts: database design and system design. Database design includedconceptual design, data table design and logical design. Meanwhile, the system functionmodule was designed.Finally, with a order production management process instance in foundry enterprise, this paper introduced foundry enterprise how to apply WFMS system for processoptimization.
