Although the gas-cookers were developed thoroughly in recent decades, such respectsas the thermal efficiency and the pollutant emission fail to meet the requirements proposedby the country, researching and developing an energy-efficient and low-pollutiongas-cooker became an important direction in this field. At the same time, the competitionis fierce, the gas-cooker manufacturers have to develop new products constantly, theefficiency of research and development should be improved. In general,the traditionaldesigning process is time-consuming and money-consuming. In addition, it relates to theexperience of the engineers. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce the numericalsimulation method into the designing of high efficient and low pollution gas cooker. It candecrease the research period, and reduce the cost and risk. However, the fundamentalresearch of numerical simulation needs a good background in mathematics and physics,the geometric modeling of simulation, the mesh generation and the post-processing needsa lot of time to practice as well, which increase the degree of difficulty of the applicationof numerical simulation. Therefore, it needs to develop a software to simulate the flow andcombustion processes of gas-cookers which have the virtue of parametric modeling, meshauto-generation,automatic inputting built-in boundary conditions and visualized output.This software has strong realistic meaning and good application prospect.By cooperating with a domestic gas-cooker manufacturer, the study focuses on threekinds of gas-cookers. Reasonable combustion models, flow models, heat-transfer modelsand boundary conditions is chosed based on the theory of Computational Fluid Dynamics.Customers can define variables to do parameterized modeling of gas-cooker in GAMBITby using the secondary development function of FLUENT. Moreover, it can set upmodeling automatically by batch-processing method. After inputting the boundaryconditions, it can figure out the efficiency and CO concentration of the gas cookers. Itadopts Visual Studio to design a good user interface to provide easy operation.Seven programms were designed to examine the simulation results according to thethermodynamic properties of gas-cookers. Compared the experimental results with the simulation results, it is found that the software is able to predict the thermal characteristicof the gas-cooker. It provides multiple choices for engineers in gas-cooker designingprocession or gives the convenience in analyzing the problems existing in gas-cookers.
