With the fast, fine, and highly-efficient development of the modern CNCmachine, the demand for fine performance of spindle box is increasing. as the key partof machine tools, the dynamic characteristics of spindle box is closely related with thegeneral performance of machine tools, and makes a huge influence on the accuracy,surface roughness and working efficiency of of machine processing. Therefore, thestudy on dymamic characteristics of spindle box has a great value on improving theperformance of machine tools both theoretically and practically.The massive and heavy NC floor type boring and milling machines of TK series isan advanced subject, which connects mechanics, electrics, hydrics and optics together,and which belongs to field of mechanical manufacture and automation. It has hightransmission efficiency, smoothy and reliable performance, and convenient processingmaintenance and high production efficiency. It has multifunction of boring, millingand drilling, it supports the use NC rotary table of high accuracy and5surfacesmachining. The ram face supports accessories of many functions, which further expandits processing function. It can perfected applied to large parts processing in the field ofmetallurgy, energy and electricity. The essay mainly studies on the spindle box oflarge NC floor type boring and milling mechine, TK6920, produced by a machine toolplant in Wuhan, and analyzes it and improves its functions, the main points are asfollows:1. Taking into account the complex and irregular shape of the Spindle box establish3D model of spindle box with the3D software SOLIDWORKS. Import ANSYSYthrough the data interface, thereby establishing the finite element model of the spindlebox.2. Make a static analysis of spindle box with finite elment software ANSYS,mainly on its stiffness and its strength. It also discusses the rationality of box structure,and supports reasons why spindle box needs improvement.3. Calculate the first eight inherent frequencies and vibrations of spindle boxthrough modal analysis. The conclusion is as follows: the first several inherentfrequencies is relatively low, and neighboring frequencies are fluctuating, and thedynamic characteristics of spindle box have much to improve.4. It combines finite elment with optimized technology,the thickness and height ofThe Spindle box as design variables which improves stiffness and reduces distortions inform and size based on static and dynamic analysis, and which is a more optimizeddesign than before. After optimization, the headstock structure rigidity is increased by12.6%, the weight is reduced by8.8%, the dynamic performance of the spindle box hasbeen significantly improved, the spindle box structure has been optimized, reached apreliminary optimization purposes...
