Gear form grinding has universal good and wide range of technology,highefficiency and accuracy,especially for grinding all kinds of dressing tooth,large toothand modulus,less number of teeth,and is widly applied in recent years.Grinding wheelmodification is the key for gear form grinding,particularly for helical gear.Theunreasonable grinding wheel profile and installation parameters will lead to grindinginterference between grinding wheel surface and gear surface,poor position andgeometry of spatial contact line,increasing grinding stroke distance,extending grindingtime,unbalabced grinding force, deterioration precision of gear surface,from a seriouspoint,will scrap gear piece.How to prevent grinding interference,quantitative analyzeand automatic control profile of grinding wheel and contact line, select and optimizeinstallation parameters and craft parameters are the primary problems for gear formgrinding.(1) On the basis of induced normal curvature discrimination of space surfacemeshing is applied to gear form grinding, adjacent structures at the contact point isinvestigated,compute modul of meshing induced normal curvature is deduced,interference area and reasonable installation parameter range is obtained,principle ofinstallation angle and grinding wheel radius for interference is given.(2) Connection of installation angle and center distance with fixed point isresearched,contact line has a fix point when we adjust center distance under unchangedinstallation angle.The fixed point changes from tooth root to top if adjusting the angle,the closer fixed point with pitch circle,the smaller the curvature of the contactline.adjusting the point can control shape of contact line.(3) Contact line equation obtained by non-instantaneous envelope method is highlynonlinear and the contact line is inflection numerous and high-level shock. It’s constantsolution and it’s stable, convergent numerical solution are researched, special solutionexpression is deduced.(4) The relationship between wheel installation angles and wheel profile isstudied,with changed angles, the desired amount of removed material for wheel profilemodification efficiency and accuracy are different. Grinding wheel profile is optimizedwhich sets angle as variable,lately, profile and installation angle are obtained whichmeets the high efficiency and low profile error.(5) Selected grinding process parameter as research object after completinggrinding wheel profile optimization, deeply discussed optimization problem of grindingparameters, established gear’s surface quality and efficiency as goal function, adoptedGA of MATLAB to optimize parameters, software is writed for the optimization ofinstallation parameter and craft parameter.Through a combination of theoretical analysis and simulation,grinding interference,control of grinding wheel profile and craft parameters optimization are studied deeply. Itprovides theoretical foundation for gear form grinding technology.
