Currently, the severity of the problem of air pollution has aroused great attention, especially the hazards ofPM2.5pollution against human beings. It’s already been monitoredand treated thePM2.5both by the state and most of the provinces. As an important device todeal with dust, the electrostatic precipitator’s collecting efficiency against fine dust is yet farfrom ideal. The research shows that water atomization electrode can effectively improve theESP’s collecting efficiency, especially forPM2.5, meanwhile new and more effectivemethods are constantly under exploring. The compound electrodes combined with2atomization poles and1metal pole are introduced into the research, and the control group issimply composed with2atomization poles, the V-A characteristics and collectingefficiencies against fine dust between the2groups are compared, so as to find out whether ornot the new compound electrodes may improve the collecting efficiency against fine dust(especiallyPM2.5). In the experiment the brick dust is selected as collecting object. On theone hand, the brick dust may simulate the dust pollution caused by construction operationswhich is one of the major sources ofPM2.5; On the other hand, the exclusively grinded brickdust contains morePM2.5andPM10, this will be conductive for getting more distinctexperiment results. The coagulation effect in the process of compound electrodes collectingfine dust is analyzed after respectively comparing the2groups of electrodes’ collecting ratioforPM1.0,PM2.5andPM10at various voltages, the results show:At any voltage, both the current and the collecting ratio of the compound electrodes isalways greater than those of the control group. This means water atomization poles and metalpole working together have better bound effect in restraining the free charges released bycorona discharge, and the metal pole can conductively to improve the charged efficiency inthe process of coagulation between atomized water drops and the dust, so as to accelerate themotion of coagulated larger particles in the electric field, it helps the ESP collect dust fasterand more effectively. The research has laid down a certain foundation for producing betterESP with higher collecting efficiency againstPM2.5.
