Development Of Display System And Modeling For3d Digital Coke Oven

In the professional teaching of coal chemical industry, the study of coke oven isindispensable. Because of its born characteristics and laboratory conditions, a two-dimensionalstructure diagram can hardly help one master the inner structure of a coke oven and its workingprinciple comprehensively and visually for a beginner. Virtual reality technology have attractedwidespread attention and application owing to its space-time freedom，security and interactivity.Therefore, virtual reality, multi-media and network are known as the three best prospecttechnologies of computer technology. The development of a3D interactive display system forstructure of a coke oven will improve the teaching efficiency and students’ learning enthusiasmeffectively.In this paper, the classification, characteristics and related technology of Virtual realitysystem were analyzed in detail, at the same time, the question about how to use theSketchUp+3DMax+3DVIA Virtools software for the development of3D interactive displaysystem were studied and described. Specific contents as follows:1. Each components of internal and external structure of coke oven were modeled accordingto its two-dimensional CAD Bricklaying Figure. The results show that the structure and size ofmodel were in accordance with the realistic coke oven. Each part of the three-dimensional modelincludes two parts: Bricklaying Figure and Overall structure of the model.2. Unlike in the past, we use the SketchUp+3DMax+3DVIA Virtools software portfolio forthe development of3D interactive display system, and make a lot of useful attempt about the filecompatibility of each software platform.3. A brief introduction of the current domestic and international mainstream virtual realitydevelopment tools including:3DVIA Virtools、Vega Prime、EON Reality and VR-Platform. Bymeans of comparing of the compatibility, operation, functions and other aspects, the reasons andcharacteristics of Virtual reality system were elaborated.4. Optimized the three-dimensional model of coke oven we created according to thedemand of3DVIA Virtools for three-dimensional scene and the problems in the import process.5. The basic interactive faction of3DVIA Virtools were introduced in detail, including thenames of the various parts of the coke oven and the drag, zoom, rotate of the three-dimensionalcoke oven. Those meet the requirements of interaction for user.We provide some solutions about how to develop and design the virtual display system ofcoke oven use3DVIA Virtools. We also provide a viable idea and reference for other types of teaching problem.
