The Expert System Of Injection Mold Based On SolidWroks

Mould industry is one of the basic fields in the national economy, which decides themanufacture level of machines. The more plastic productions are used abroad, the highermould design level is required. However, the most of national mould enterprises are still atthe2-D design phase and the majority of mould designs can only rely on the mould designer’sexperience, the tradition mold design has not been able to adapt the plastic products todevelop, the prompt update request unceasingly. There exist inevitable low efficiency andhigh workload in the processes of model design. This work develops an injection mold designsystem based on SolidWorks, and uses expert system of production rule to represent andderivate knowledge of injection mould knowledge base. It forms a special application systemin the common CAD flat by integrating graphic design and intelligent expert system into aninjection mold CAD system.According to the data of core and impression from inputs of user, the expert system ofinjection mould design tries to match the rules coming from the knowledge base to get themost ideal mould and through the artificial aided design to consummate the entire mold’sdesign process. Then the system takes the mould data out of the database to build the3Dmodeling by the SolidWorks API. It is possible to use the module of maintenance andmanagement to renew the database and knowledge base of system in order to adapt to variouscircumstance of manufacture, it promotes the mold design’s auxiliary cartography to the aideddesign, the automated design. Moreover it can improve the efficiency and quality of moulddesign and further improve the machines industry.
