Dies are widely used in modern production. With the development of all sorts of technology, the quality of dies are enhanced constantly, which will impel the combination of dies processing technology and all kinds of post-processing technology. In order to produce dies with high lifetime, high quality and low producing cost, the laser surface hardening technology has generally applied in dies industry, which increases post-processing difficulties of dies.In order to deal with the difficulty of dies surface post finishing process after laser hardening, our group put forward the soft consolidation pneumatic wheel finishing process method in the background of precise and super-precise produce technology. On the basis of the soft consolidation pneumatic wheel research, this thesis applies DEM to the area of soft consolidation pneumatic wheel finishing process. The method which will measures the stiffness modulus of numerical simulation of biaxial experiments in abrasives layer model is proposed, and the relationship between grain grit and abrasives layer stiffness modulus is established. All of them will be helpful to do direct tensile test on mucous layer, and also to evaluate the similar degree of the results in experiments and simulations. The experiment result shows us that it is reasonable to apply DEM in this area.The major research context of this thesis include:(1) on the basis of soft consolidation pneumatic wheel research, analyze the characteristic of abrasives layer element and other elements; Do some research on the viscoelasticity of soft consolidation pneumatic wheel abrasives layer on the basis of viscoelasticity theory, and also analyze the wriggle effect and relax effect in the product process by using Burgers model analysis.(2) on the basis of researching soft consolidation pneumatic wheel contact model by using the particle mechanics theory, the engineers analyze the sorts of contact models which exist in abrasives layer, and also give a brief introduction to the characteristics of the contact model and its suitable object. Thus, they can choose the corresponding contact model according to the material character which exist in each layer and their contact characteristics.(3)This thesis gives a brief introduction to DEM software PFC2D. The engineers build the soft consolidation pneumatic wheel abrasives layer model by using the PFC2D software; and they set up the contact parameter and analyze the simulation of abrasives layer model through the general characteristics of adhesive material by number simulating experiment. The engineers measure the stiffness modulus of abrasives layer made by different sized abrasive material through the number simulating experiment (the biaxial experiment). They compare the results of simulation and tensile test through the Instron tensile test, which shows us that it is reasonable of the number simulating experiment to the abrasives layer by using the simulating software. They compare the producing characteristics of different sized abrasive material through the simulation of the soft consolidation pneumatic wheel finishing producing process by using PFC2D; and then the hardness range of workpiece whose diameter is specialized and also it is made by the abrasive material which is suitable for producing.The achievement of this thesis offers a certain direct significance to the soft consolidation pneumatic wheel finishing producing process through the DEM method.
