Steel industry is the basic of national economy in our country. Flying shear is one of the important synchronous shear equipments in the steel industry. With the rapid development of the continuous rolling technology, as important equipment, flying shear directly affects both production efficiency and economic benefit. For a long time, flying shear mainly rely on import in our country. Eccentric flying shear was studied in this paper which adopted the optimization method satisfying kinematics performance and improving dynamic performance.On consideration of the swing flying shear’s characteristics which were large volume, heavy weight and poor dynamic performance. Traditional optimal design of flying shear which is just a simple kinematics analysis, can not meet the requirements of eccentric flying shear. So this paper carried out the following work:Firstly, a simplified parameterized model was established, kinematic optimization analysis was implemented and the corresponding kinematics curves were obtained. Secondly, according to the result of kinematics optimization, the entity model was established and dynamics optimization analysis was conducted. At the same time, the corresponding graph of force variation was obtained. Finally, modal analysis of crankshaft was implemented and natural frequency was obtained.Optimization analysis results showed that the optimization method, which was adopted in this paper, can meet the requirements of the flying shear. Dynamic optimization analysis showed that the optimized flying shear can reduce impact and vibration on-stream. Thus the service life was increased and the quality of the products was improved. Modal analysis of crankshaft showed that under different kinds stress conditions, resonance won’t occur on crankshaft. The references for independent research and development of flying shear were provided by conclusion in this paper.
