The Protection Of Important Ecological Function Areas Of Wuzhong District, Suzhou

The important ecological area is to play an important role in water supplyingconservation, soil and water resources conservation, flood control, protection of theecological diversity. Wuzhong District is the important ecological function regionwith largest area and most types in Suzhou City. In Wuzhong District, the importantecological function region is the important constituents of ecological security system andthe survival of the ecological foundation, and an important guarantee for the realizationof regional economic and social sustainable development of Suzhou. Stady on importantecological function protection, is not only the basis of ecological environmentconstruction, but also the need to maintain the ecological security of Suzhou City.The method of comprehensive evaluation of ecological service function is used inthis paper to optimized ecological function area based on the original ecologicalfunctional zones of Wuzhong District. By using the analytic hierarchy process, theevaluation index of ecological function was established, and is combined intoa combined weight of the index, and comprehensive evaluation to the ecologicalfunction of these ecological function areas has been done. The main research results areas follows:(1)In Wuzhong District, the main ecological service function belongs to veryimportant level, the ecosystem or species accounted for the province’s speciesnumber ratio of more than30%, belonging to a very important degree; the function ofwater conservation and drinking water supplying also belonging to the veryimportant degree; soil conservation function is very important too.(2)After adjustment, there are9types of major ecological function protection area inWuzhong District. And there are18important ecological function protected zone. Thetotal area of the important ecological function protected area is1941.287km2, there intoit, the prohibition area for exploitation zone is10.09km2, Limited exploitation zone areaof1931.197km2.(3) The comprehensive appraisal index CEI of the important ecological functionalzones of Wuzhong District is equal to0.61, that belonging to the medium ofregional ecological environment quality.(4) The advantages for the protection of important ecological function areas in Wuzhong District are: Ecological protection foundation is good; excellent naturalscenery conditions with good ecological culture foundation; harmonious withenvironment development; industrial solid economic foundation. But the restrictionfactors are: economic development and ecological protection is not enough coordination,the slow development of the rural economy in protect ecological function zone;ecological sensitivity to increase the difficulty of environmental protection, economicaldevelopment is restricted by resource scarcity ecological; and the basic conditions ofenvironmental management of ecological function area is not perfect.
