With the deepening of environmental awareness and the implementation of sustainable development strategy, Water hydraulic technology which is environmental, efficient, energy-saving is becoming the attentive focus. It is single hydraulic prop that polluted gob and groundwater seriously in China’s coal mines now, which used emulsion as working substance. So this paper presented a new idea that used water instead of emulsion. It is significant that research single water hydraulic prop to reduce the coal mines production cost and economic benefits, which protected the environment and saved energy. In this paper, research on design and dynamic performance of water single hydraulic prop is done. First, solutions that strip groove is producted in the outface of movable column each300mm are proposed aimed at the key technical problems due to water medium special physical and chemical properties, whicth can greatly reduce the friction and wear, effectively improve the lubrication conditions and improve the anti-seismic ability. It is resulted that the optimal wall of movable column is8mm. Second, it presented the flow field analysis on raise-initial working, bear-overflow and prop drawing of water hydraulic single prop using the fluent software. It is resulted that the inner flow field is stable, the cavitations and vortex phenomena are not produced in the inner cavity during the pillar normal working. Which does not result in loss of energy and noise intensifies. Third, it presented the dynamic simulation on water hydraulic single prop using the MATLAB/Simulink software. The main factor influencing the dynamic performance of pure water single hydraulic prop is resulted.
