At present, the non-weaving fabric is a dominant type product in the fiber productsmarkets; its application has been extended increasingly. Since the characteristics and the costof production, etc, the synthetic fibers which mostly regards to polyester, polypropylene fiberhas been adopted as the raw material for such a long time and rarely the synthetic fibers mixnatural fiber is adopted in the specific cases. Its poor hydrophilic properties bring about forthe above-mentioned reasons. The requirement of hydrophilic properties of which the materialuse is fairly high not only in medical and hygiene sector but also in clothing textiles andwiping materials, therefore it is significantly valuable to improve the hydrophilic properties ofnon-woven fabric for medical and hygiene use.Chemical modified, Plasma modified and modified with UV irradiation are the mainmethods applied in this paper in order to improve the hydrophilic properties of non-wovenfabric for Medical and Hygiene Sector use, and the modification effect through the changes ofhydrophilic data is evaluated.Surface-active agent KL-WPS200611108and KL-WPS200611105are used fornon-woven fabric hydrophilic finishing, using orthogonal experimental analysis to determinethe better finishing process. Experiments show that Surface-active agent KL-WPS200611108can improve the hydrophilic properties of non-woven fabric significantly, the optimumcondition is Surface-active agent concentration60g/L, soaking time20min,soakingtemperature70℃, baking temperature160℃.With the help of Plasma, surface of T/R (polyester/rayon) non-woven fabric PET wasmodified by AA to improve the hydrophilic properties. Design experimental program throughorthogonal experiment, and intuitive analyses the data to confirm the best population ofparameter, studying the changes of hydrophilic properties before and after finishing.Hydrophilic properties data and infrared spectral analysis results show that it is feasible toimprove the hydrophilic of non-woven fabric modified by atmospheric pressurelow-temperature plasma. AA (acrylic acid) concentration, soaking temperature, distance between plates and treatment time influence the effect significantly. When acrylic acidconcentration50%, soaking temperature40℃, distance between plates is5mm and treatmenttime is6mines, the hydrophilic of non-woven fabric reach a higher-level. T/R (polyester/rayon) non-woven fabric soaked by AA(acrylic acid) modified by UV-radiation, and theinfluence of the acrylic acid concentration, soaking temperature, and treatment time werediscussed in detail.Through the hydrophilic properties detect and by means of infraredspectral analysis to characterize the effect of finishing. The results showed that it was feasibleto improve the hydrophilic of non-woven fabric modified by UV-radiation. When acrylic acidconcentration50%, soaking temperature60℃, and treatment time4mines, the hydrophilic ofnon-woven fabric is reach higher-level.
