Steel after hot rolling, requires a lot of coolant that ensure the strip coiling temperature, however, at the same time, rust happens inevitably. Therefore, it is so necessary to study shape parameters and installation location of the steel drying equipment that ensure the drying effect and reduce the rust. Compared with the experimental, computer simulation has the advantage of reproducibility, short cycle and low cost. Thus it has great significance to the study strip drying device by using CFD technology.Based on the theoretical approach of the CFD, this Paper used FLUENT software to study the flow field and optimize the parameters of the strip steel drying device.(1) Simulation and optimization of the Coanda nozzle. Firstly, the Coanda nozzle two-dimensional model was built on the size before reconstruction and meshed in a reasonable turbulence model. When the boundary conditions and calculation parameters were determined, simulation began to ran. Then, the gas flow field flow pattern was analyzed under different conditions, such as changed inlet pressure, the width of the nozzle head with anti-wrapped board, the arc of curvature of the nozzle head and the tangent inclination and the length of arc backside, and then the optimal shape parameters were selected for reasonable Coanda nozzle. Finally, the reasonable installation location was determined in the different roll diameters under the optimal shape of the nozzle.(2) Simulation and optimization of the suction port cover board. To begin with, the two cover was compared, then meshed and three-dimensional model was established in a reasonable turbulence model. After the boundary conditions and calculation parameters were determined, simulation began to ran, and then the variation pattern of gas velocity and pressure data was summarized in a different strip height. Furthermore, the cover board was transformed for the existing problems. Lastly, the cover type and the reasonable installation location was determined.Part parameters and the flow field flow rule obtained by the simulation results have direct guide significance for the design and installation of the strip drying device.
