Gas collector pressure of coke oven is a key industrial parameter in coking process, the stability of which is an important guarantee for the regular production and safe operation of coke oven. Controlling the gas collector pressure in the proper range is an important technical measure of increasing the quantity and quality of coke, prolonging the life of coke ovens, conserving energy and protecting environment.Multiple direct and indirect disturbances affect the stability of gas collector pressure in coking process. Also, when several coke ovens are connected in parallel, there are complex coupling relations between them. Therefore, the multi gas collectors pressure system of coke ovens is a complicated multivariable system, which is strongly disturbed, close coupled, nonlinear and time variant. Considering that an accurate mathematic model of such system is hard to be established, an intelligent control method based on fuzzy logic ratiocination is presented in this paper, which obtains the merits of fuzzy control, PID control and decoupling control.The research in this paper is based on the project of "Optimizing control software for gas collector pressure of coke oven", which is entrusted by Coking And Refractory Engineering Consulting Corporation(ACRE). Real equipment and industrial data is utilized in the study. Through understanding the coking process, researching the related papers from home and abroad, the paper make a detailed analysis of control problem of gas collector pressure.Firstly, a single loop fuzzy control algorithm for a single gas collector is presented, based on the characteristics of equipment and process of coke oven system.Secondly, a fuzzy-PID controller is designed in the paper, which calculates the PID corrected parameters of butterfly valves through fuzzy logic ratiocination. The method not only maintains the stability and robustness of PID control, but also introduces the merits of fuzzy control, namely fast dynamics characteristics and high intelligence. Thirdly, after analyzing the asymmetry and coupling relations in multi gas collectors system, a fuzzy-decoupling control method is offered. Through constructing augmentation corrections, the method can realize the decoupling of the inside and mutual. Thus it can eliminate the mutual influences of four gas collectors pressure and guarantee the pressure of two coke ovens system in the proper range.Finally, the simulating models for gas collector pressure system and gas collector pressure control system is established under the condition of software MATLAB. By the comparison of PID control, fuzzy control algorithm, fuzzy-PID control method and the effect of fuzzy-decoupling control method, the rationality and validity of the presented control method were verified by simulating results.
