Glass products are closely related to our daily life. If we want to produce qualified glass products, we must first ensure the glass batching process and glass furnace technology. No matter what kind of glass products production, batching is always the first requirement. If we use manual batching, unfavorable factors will be put in the process of batching. Due to negligence of workers, the weight of glass raw material may be not accurate. Manual batching requires large number of workers, and the efficiency is not high. In the process of manual batching, dust particles may damage to respiratory system of workers in plant environment and be very easy to spread of the disease. In view of the above problems, this paper designs the automatic control system for batching process. Stable and reliable programmable controller, intelligent instruments and monitoring system are used in batching control system. Three devices can coordinate and communicate with each other. RS-232and RS-485are used in communication system. In the communication process, CX-Protocol software and communication protocol macro are used in the programmable controller and the intelligent instrument. The effective use of the two makes the batching process simpler, more intelligent.It is kown to all that, glass furnace is a complex system with delay, time-varying characteristics. For a long time, people have been using conventional control method to control the furnace. But the delay and time-varying characteristics always affect the performance of control system, further the quality of glass products. Therefore, genetic algorithm which is based on the intelligent control method is applied to research of system. Online parameter identification of genetic algorithm can dynamically trace the change of the parameters. Therefore, the furnace is controlled timely and effectively. The use of advanced system provides a guarantee for the batching and normal operation of glass furnace.The practice shows that this design method is correct. It can improve accuracy of the mixing, reduce the amount of labor and improve the working environment.
