Cloud manufacturing, which is originated to cloud computing, is a service-oriented manufacturing model. It can make good use of company resource, improve products quality and save cost for company. Network based remote control system of CNC supplies technical support for the implementation of cloud manufacturing. This paper comes up with a remote control system of CNC based on networks, using VC IDE and TCP/IP protocol to develop this system. The system is C/S layer structure, and Active X is used to develop the remote control software for CNC. We can control all the CNC’s in workshop by PC in master-control room, implementing all these functions, including remote control of online processing, supervising workshop status, uploading and downloading processing files, analysis of workshop faults and managing CNC’s permission. This system can monitor CNC’s processing and the usage of consumable, which is helpful for data analysis and improve CNC’s efficiency. By setting up CNC’s permission, this system can limit some operations of workers, in order to avoid misdeeds leading the change of data, processing file and conditions, which can create waste. Additionally, it can avoid leaking important processing NC file and data caused by worker’s different quality.
