Quote remarkable advantage of embedded system in the field of industry control compared with desktop PC. Attributed to Windows CE beautiful user-friendly interface and mature stable application development technology, make it gain numerous developers favour and become one of highest global market occupation in the field of embedded operating system. Researched embedded micro control system based on Windows CE satisfy the Wire-EDM CNC market strict requirements for real-time, accuracy, stability and durability,and it held great significance for establishing our own country industry control system.By in-depth studying the characteristics of WEDM CNC programming system CAWEP running on Windows platform and analyzing the system function structure and data logic, put forward overall embedded miniaturized development master plan for CAWEP, use ARM as the hardware platform and Windows CE as the software platform.In this paper, the technology of Windows CE development environment building and kernel customization is studied and discussed, involving add and tailor system components, compile operating system image and download it to hardware devices. After master the Windows CE operating system development model, development process and the commonalities and differences between Windows and Windows CE applications development, successfully accomplish CAWEP portability and prefect work based on Windows CE. And according to the practical development experience, summarize the key technologies and debugging skills in the process of software development. Then display and describe embedded CAWEP use cases, the content covers graphic drawing, graphic editing, zoom, NC processing codes generation and machining simulation. Experimental results prove the transplanted CAWEP running on Windows CE system is stable, efficient and reliable, commercial value obviously and distinctly. In the end, list the main research work and achievements and point out current existing problems. Finally, predicate the worthy studying directions for future efforts.
