“Safety first, prevention first, comprehensive treatment" could ensure employees’life, safety and health, and ensure enterprises’ activities run smoothly. Throughoutserious and major accidents in the petroleum companies during recent years, it is nothard to find that there are flaws in the safety management, such that safety productionresponsibility is not divided clearly, management and front-line personnel’s safetyconsciousness is weak, etc. In order to decrease the probability of accidents, prevention work should be put in place. Work group is the smallest unit of safetymanagement in the petroleum enterprise, and the bottom unit for every enterprise’sproduction activities. Work group’s safety management level directly reflects thecomprehensive safety management level of the enterprise.Supervisor who is the frontline leader plays an important role in the accidentprevention, but his/her safety leadership whether has an impact on employees’ safetybehaviors is still not clear. Therefore, the thesis will explore the relationship betweensupervisor’s safety leadership and employees’ safety behaviors, from the frontlineleader level, so as to fundamentally improve employees’ safety behavior level, deepenthe implementation of the enterprise’s safety work, thereby reducing the occurrence ofaccidents and making enterprise to further promote safety management level. Thispaper mainly contains the following work:Firstly, summarize the related theories on safety leadership, safety climate andsafety behavior, and define supervisor’s safety leadership. On the basis of previoustheoretical researches, the paper regards the group-level safety climate as anintermediary variable, then discusses the relationship among supervisor’s safetyleadership employees’ safety behaviors and group-level safety climate, and putsforward a hypothesis model of the relationship.Secondly, according to relatively mature questionnaires which are often used inthe researches on safety leadership, safety climate and safety behavior, the studydesigns a questionnaire which is suitable for the petroleum enterprise in our country, determines some frontline workers of an oil exploration enterprise as the sample andmakes2round investigation-issuing questionnaires and retrieving them.Thirdly, after using canonical correlation analysis and multiple regressionanalysis to process the data by SPSS software, the results support that there is apositive correlation with each other among supervisor’s safety leadership, employees’safety behaviors and group-level safety climate, and supervisor’s safety leadership hasan indirect influence on employees’ safety behaviors through the group-level safetyclimate which as a mediator. The conclusion will contribute to improving supervisor’s safety leadershipbehavior level, enhancing the level of employees’ safety behavior and will provide areference to the related theoretical researches and making safety training programs forsupervisors more specified.
