According to the twelfth five-year plan of China,three developmentpriorities are:1) Developing the green industries,2) adjusting industrialstructure and3) promoting the technological progress. Under this guidance, thea lot of small cement plant should be shut down, use of the traditional Portlandcements should be reduced or partly replaced. To comply with the developmentof the construction industry, research on the expanded perlite magnesiumoxychloride gelatin material and its application is very important.The performance of the magnesium oxychloride gelatin was firstly studied,the expanded perlite magnesium oxychloride gelatin materials were prepared byadding the expanded perlite as lightweight aggregate. The properties of theexpanded perlite magnesium oxychloride gelatin were then investigated.Through cooperating with the production enterprises, these novel materials werepractically applied. The application feasibility of the expanded perlitemagnesium oxychloride gelatin materials were determined, according to therelated product quality standards.(1) Influence of the different ratio on the hydration products of the magnesiumoxychloride cement blocks was deduced through the microstructuralobservation.(2) The change regularity of the hydration products was determined throughinvestigating the microscopic morphologies of the magnesium oxychloridecements. The mechanic properties of the magnesium oxychloride cements ofdifferent ratios were measured. Finally, the influence of the different ratio of themagnesium oxychloride cements on their strength was confirmed. Phase changeof the hydration products of the the magnesium oxychloride cements in differentages was studied to draw a conclusion of the regularity of the magnesiumoxychloride cement hydration process.(3) According to research on the comprehensive performance of the magnesiumoxychloride cements above, the expanded perlite magnesium oxychloridegelatin materials were fabricated by adding expanded perlite as light aggregate.The strength, dry density and thermal conductivity of the composites arrives at the standard of GB/T20473-2006“The building thermal insulation mortar” andDB34/T1503-2011(J11950-2011)“Regulations of technology of inorganicinsulation mortar wall thermal insulation system application”. It is determinedthat the composites can be used as the building thermal insulation mortar.(4) Based on the study on the properties of the expanded perlite magnesiumoxychloride gelatin materials, The uses of new materials in the corrugated tiles,the light weight partition boards and the smoke evacuation products wereevaluated. All of these provide authoritative tecnique supports to develop andapply the new materials, which is believed to produce great economic and socialbenefits in furture.
