Oilfield drilling tools in drilling and workover are the key factor ofdeveloping and maintaining the oil well. In order to guarantee the safe use ofoilfield drilling tools, the inspection workers need to check drilling toolsregularly to implement the monitoring and effective management of drillingtools.Paper record was used in traditional inspection for drilling tools. Thedisadvantage of this method is inefficient and error-prone. Currently,two-dimensional bar code is taken for inspection, the main drawback of thismethod is that the bar code is susceptible to be stained,so that the information ofdrilling tools can not be obtained, mobile reading is restricted. Aiming at thecurrent inspection problems for drilling tools, the inspection system for oilfieldbased on RFID is adopted. The information of drilling tools can be readaccurately and transferred by portable handheld devices under the complex workenvironment of oilfield; the information of drilling tools is managed by the uppercomputer through data base. The main work is summarized as follows:(1) The hardware of inspection handheld device is developed. According tothe function of the system, the hardware is divided into five modules, which aredata acquisition module, GPRS communication module, keyboard and displaymodules, power supply module and MSP430F149processor. Data acquisitionmodule MF RC522is responsible for collecting the data of oilfield tools; GPRScommunication module SIM900A is responsible for transmitting and receivingdata; keyboard and display module is responsible for the display and operation of the handheld device; power supply module is responsible for the entire powersupply for inspection handheld device.(2)The acquisition and transmission of drilling tools information isimplemented. The MSP430processor collects the information of drilling tools byRFID module; processes the key information through encryption algorithm toprevent illegal reader to modify or delete the data. The MSP430processortransfers the data to the upper computer through GPRS module.(3)The software of management center of oilfield tools is designed.Database is established by Sql Sever. Network communications is designedthrough Delphi Socket network controls. The database connection is designedthrough the Delphi ADO controls, and the visualization, actionable ofmanagement interface for oilfield drilling tools is designed.The managementcenter is composed of the in-stockroom, the out-stockroom, the back-stockroom,the submitting and maintenance and other management function of drilling tools.The information of drilling tools can be modified and searched through themanagement center.Experiment result shows that oilfield drilling tools inspection system basedon RFID can accurately complete the data acquisition, transmission andmanagement, provides a reference value for the application of similar inspectionsystem.
