Recently, as the polyester and the ultra fine polyester fibers used more and more widely, the problem of deep dyeing, that is to say the dyed polyester fabric is not deep enough and not black enough have become more urgent. The main reason for this is because the polyester fibers especially for the ultra fine polyester fibers’ compact structure and smooth surface performance. With its larger specific surface area, when the light reaches the surface, a lot of light would be reflected and only a little of light would be absorbed by the dyes in the fabric. This is the reason why polyester fabric is difficult to be dyed deep. To reduce the light reflectance, one of the most effective methods is the treatment with resins or changes of the surface properties of the polyester fiber.Organic silicone resins, polyurethane resins and organic fluorine resins are the three mainly used low reflectivity resins in the enhancing of the deep shade of the polyester fabrics. A lot of researches of organic silicone resin had been done in recent years. Polyurethane resins and organic fluorine resins, however, used as a finishing agents for the deep darkening dyed polyester fabrics are reported less. Organic fluorine resin is an important branch of organic fluoride material. Due to its excellent surface properties, the advantages on the oil/water repellence, anti-pollution, deep darkening effect, easy-wash-ability, friction-durability and corrosion resistance, the fluorine resins attracted a lot of interests and had been developed extensively. Generally speaking, the refractive index of fluorine resin is below 1.40, less than organic silicone resin and polyurethane resin. The polyester fabric finished by organic fluorine resin could decrease the light reflection and then to enhance the deep darkening effects on polyester fabric. In this article, the acrylate and fluoroacrylate were copolymerized by the method of emulsion polymerization to prepare the fluorine resin and then the structure was characterized by IR, 1HNMR, 19FNMR, Furthermore, the emulsion viscosity and surface tension of the fluorine resin had been studied. In this article, the finishing process of the fluorine resin for the black, yellow, red and blue dyes for polyester fabrics had been systemically studied. The concentration of the resin, the temperature and the time of barking on the deepening effects had been analyzed. The relations between the structures of the fluorine resin and the effects of the deepening effect were studied. The contact angle, the surface tension, fastness properties and stiffness properties of the finished fabric had been tested. The results indicated that the best finishing process of fluorine resin was that the dosage of fluorine resin 50g/L, pre-baking temperature 95℃, baking temperature 180℃, time 60 seconds. And the results showed that the higher fluoride level of fluorine resin, the more obvious on the deep darkening effects. The surface tension of finished fabric decreased a lot while the stiffness increased a little. The dry and wet rubbing fastness also decreased a little but the wash fastness is not greatly affected. The research provided an efficient way to enhance the apparent depth of dyed polyester fabrics.
