| Designed to further improve system stability and increase the power line transmission capacity, in careful analysis of a variety of methods and programmes (including the same section of line circuits, high voltage direct current transmission, increasing the number of series capacitor compensation) and on the basis of economic and operational, series compensation technology by the initial development of Zhangjiakou,2500kV substation with series capacitor compensation are developed to more areas. To ensure the stable operation of series capacitor, as their performance good, reliable actions, constitute a reasonable configuration of relay protection is very necessary. Thus, series capacitor protection and control technology are of important theoretical and practical significance. To enhance the series compensation level of system protection engineering design and equipment selection, operation and maintenance, with protective characteristics of this article as the Central, key technology, practical application of series compensation protection, protection and control monitoring technologies, and test analysis for in-depth study.The main achievements and conclusion reflect in:(1)Protection and control system of dual-disposition of the application of series compensation systems, improving reliability.(2) PCS-9250optical current transfomor which was developed successfully reflecs the chinese design characteristic.
