Research On Urban Public Cultural Facilities Configuration In China

Urban public cultural facility is the carrier of the urban residents’ culturalactivities. The rapid development of economy and accelerated urbanization leadthe insuffic ient and distribution imbalance cultural facilities too difficult to meetthe needs of the residents. Under the background of the national policies continuepromoting cultural construction, this paper researches the configuration of urbanpublic cultural facilities in China by using literature research method and systemanalysis.This dissertation classifies the facilities into different kinds and believesthat classification by using function is more comprehensive and targeted way.Through analysis the national standards and local regulations, it proposes a dualclassification method of architecture and planning. It also devides urban culturalliving circles into four levels, which are city level, reginal level, strict level, andcommunity level.The main idea of this paper to configurate the urban public cultural facilitiesis using the culture living circles, which will effective solute the problems in theoriginal planning as not clear enough cultural facility levels and insufficiencyfacility service covering, and can simplify the whole process of configuration.For different culture living circle, this paper gives three levels of culturalfacilities constitution, which are basic leve, good level, and complete level. Italso gives the approximate construction scales of the facilities. For the facilitieslayout, this paper suggests that distribute the cultural living circles by the citystructure at first, then consideration locate the cultural facilities in them. It alsogives some combination and layout ways.Hoping this dissertation research can give some theories and methodsguidance to the cultural facilities planning or other public facilities planning.
