Because of the advantages of small footprint and high utilization ratio ofconstruction area, High-rise buildings adapt to the needs of the modern city. With alarge number of high-rise buildings constructed, the emergence of urban windenvironment becomes more and more complicated. The impact of high-rise buildingsof its wind environment around led to a series of questions. However, many cities arelack of systemic understanding of the wind environment situation under differentplane form of the high-rise building, and still blindly construct high-rise buildings.Through the analysis of pedestrian comfort level in the wind environment aroundhigh-rise building with different plane form in different direction of wind, this paperaims to provide the reference of plane form choosing for cities. In this paper, four typical plane forms of high-rise building are selected,―GONG‘-shaped, butterfly-shaped,cross-shaped, PIN‘–shaped‖plane form, andEach single building of these plane forms constitute the column architectural complexwith four rows and four columns, as objects of study. The paper uses CFD numericalsimulation method to simulate wind environment of these architectural complex inthree dominant wind―S/NNW/SSW‖,and the other three―E/ESE/WSW‖in Tianjin,24objects simulated in total, respectively analyze and evaluate the windenvironmental situation of these objects, both from a qualitative and quantitative pointof view. According to the study: the butterfly-shaped is suitable for cites under thesedominant wind, comfort evaluation of the wind environment around buildings of it isnot bad.
