Study On Development And Use Of The Center District Underground Space In Chongqing

As the world is marehing into‘a century of cities’，from‘the century ofUrbanization’，the city has grown into the most signifieant living space forhuman beings. However, in major cities around the world are facing the "survival crisis"that overpopulation, shortage of resources, environmental pollution and ecologicaldegradation in varying degrees. The functional requirements of the modern city and thespatial form of traditional urban space have become increasingly acute. The prominentissue of urban centers are concentrated expression in the limited capacity of urban spaceand urban inefficient. A growing number of people pay attention to the undergroundspace with unique superiority. Practice shows that the development and utilization ofunderground space can not only alleviate effectively urban contradictions due to theshortage of land resources, but also an important way to achieve developmentsustainably to the city.The centre district of Chongqing has a long history in developed and utilized ofthe underground space. There came out various contradictions and problems due to thelack of correlation theory and practical experience. The exploitation and the directionfor underground space has not yet formed a unified and clear framework. This articleaims to reference the experience in developed countries, exploring how to effectiveintegration the underground space resources according to the characteristics ofChongqing center area, finding suitable methods to plan space and the tactics ofdevelopment for Chongqing local conditions, guiding a scientific planning for theunderground space of the center city and to promote its healthy development.This thesis divided into five parts based on the above problems.Part one: Asking questions, introducing the background, significance and themethod of the research, reviewing and commenting briefly on the theoretical study andpractice of the foreign urban underground space.Part two: Starting from the basic cognitive theory, depth analysis of theclassification, development intensity, forms of utilization, development model anddevelopment tendency of the urban centers of underground space.Part three: Discussed the method of underground space of the urban center areaPlanning. first clear its contents, and then proposed principles of its development. Onthis basis, we will discuss the external coordination planning and the noumenal spatial planning in two aspects. External coordination planning of the underground space mustcoordinate the underground space and its external urban environment on a macroscale,the coordinated development of it can form a good interaction to coordinate the spatialscale, functions and location. The noumenal spatial planning of the underground spaceanalyse its basic form and features, and summarize the methods of underground spacelayout. The suggestion for reasonable functional layout of space vertical level andappropriate to each of the level.Part four: Illustrate with examples, First, reviewed the development history ofChongqing center area underground space, studied all available types of it, research isbased on them, the urban underground space development demand from the spatialexpansion, urban traffic, urban greening, the preservation and development of thehistoric cultural cities, civil air defense system of public and other aspects. Point outthat Chongqing center area has been the development of underground space conditions,should be get rid of the old model for the construction of underground spacedevelopment on a much wider scale. Finally, the development of underground space inthe urban area of Chongqing city were summarized, describes the process ofachievements in the development, such as the original underground facilities utilization,rely on the mountain terrain characteristic development, space system beneficial attemptand so on, also points out many problems such as the development ratio, managementand design should be solved in the future.Part five: the item study of underground space planning and development strategyof the main urban area of Chongqing, corresponding to the fifth chapter and the sixthchapter. The fifth chapter selects Chongqing typical underground space--Yuzhong areaof Monument for Liberation area, first, analyzed the status quo of ground andunderground space, and the introduction of quantitative research, through the supportsize of the total building and ground environment to get the study area undergroundspace demand; secondly, from the functional planning, form planning and entrancedesign, expounds how to integrate the resources of underground space, and the initialidea presented the overall structure and layout of the study area of the undergroundspace. The sixth chapter, formulate the underground space development strategy in threeaspects in detail which are the development, operation, management and legalregulations of underground space in the central area,is favorable to support thedevelopment of it.At present, the underground space planning in Chongqing city is still in the stage of rapid development, and the theory research of underground space in the city centerarea in China has just started, waiting for deeply investigating and exploring.The thesishope that through this research can lay a certain role to the construction of a period inthe future development of urban underground space in Chongqing.
