Thedevelopment of social and economicand increasing of the demand causethehigh volume of construction and the high volume ofconsumption.Although to someextent, this could improve the quality of life,at the same time buildings also bring aheavy burden to the resources and environment in its entire life cycle.To construct aharmonious society requires a major effort to develop sustainable buildings, so as toreduce the negative effects of buildings for environment and development.In the designprocess, the earlier the sustainable technologies get involved the higher effectiveness itworks. Comparison of construction, operation and other follow-up phase, thesustainable role play more efficiently in the preliminary design stage, which requirescontrolled design methods.The complexity of sustainable architecture designmeans thetraditional architectural design method which depending experience to judgeinsufficient is not enough tosupport the design, the lack of unified technology basesystem, the designer can not combine environmental and architectural designprocesseffectively, also can’t form a controlled design methods.The function of thedesign tools is the important part of the technical basis, the application of design toolsnot only make the sustainable architecture design more efficient andmore accurate, thedesign results are plausible, but also affect the design method or the development ofdesign thinking. Based on this consideration, through the perspective of an architect,Using a variety of methods such as literature research, interviews, surveys, case studies,application simulation and practices, and a variety of aspects, this paperresearches theapplication of sustainable architecture design tools and related content. This paperattempts to explore the relationship between sustainable architecture design and designtools; analyse of the application property and the application ideas of sustainablearchitecture design toolset and sub-tools; construct of the applied system of sustainablearchitecture design toolsfor the whole design stage;attempts to use design tools in theproject, to validation and improve the system of sustainable architecture design tools.The core of this paper is mainly the following contents:①The research on the updateing base of sustainable architecture design toolsComparative analysis based the sustainability goals architectural design withtraditional architecture design differences from four angles of the "target","thinking","evaluation","program" updates of sustainable architecture design "tools" asthe fifth element of the design of the study should be built on top of the other four elements, thisstudy aims to analyze the association between sustainable architecture design anddesign tools, and laid the theoretical foundation of the design tools. On the basis of theabove theoretical research, in-depth analysis of the design tools in sustainablearchitecture design updates, and design tools to sort out and classify.
