Scheduling of urban public transport vehicles is the core business in daily operation management of bus enterprises, which plays a decisive role on the improvement of public transport service quality, promotion of the ratio of choosing bus as the transportation for travelers and decreasing the production cost of enterprises. At present, advanced public transportation systems have started to be built in part of cities of our nation, in which new technologies like GPS, real time monitoring and transmission have been used in bus operation. However, it is still lack of scientificity and efficiency in bus scheduling model of most cities. Therefore, at the overall background of discussion on common construction of advanced public transportation systems across our country, there is important realistic significance to improve the bus scheduling by using advanced functions of the systems.Firsty,on the basis of analysis of the concept of a city bus scheduling and the content of APTS,starting from the course of development of APTS at home and abroad.Theoretical stud y current situation and our city bus scheduling to star,introducted our city bus scheduling ope rating processes,influence factors and the form of vehicle scheduling summarize the proble ms existing in the current bus scheduling.combined with the current situationg of our city bu s operactors to put forward the overall design of our city APTS.the syetem composed of the idea and analysis of system functions.Secondly,on the development of pubbic trasportation system,use the system of the existi ng functionality implementation of the key issues of static and dynamic scheduling optimaz ation is described in detail.Analysis of the passenger survey and the passenger flow characto ristics according to statistical data of chengdu public transport card passengers and describes the exponential smoothing methood to predict the route passenger.At the same time the key piont of the real dynamic scheduling---Acess to real-time information technology and the sec tion traffic forecast analysis.In this paper, the optimization of scheduling urban lines that mainly focus on the methods used for confirming vehicle interval during the bus static scheduling time and identifications of abnormal events in dynamic scheduling was investigated. In the optimizing research of bus static scheduling, based on the historical statistical data of transit passenger flow, the model of vehicle interval with minimum operational cost of enterprise and waiting cost of travelers was established through the analysis on the interests of bus enterprises and travelers, and then actual examples were analyzed. For dynamic scheduling, the types and characteristics of common abnormal incidents in transit operation were analyzed. The analyses that use the real-time data through intelligent dispatching system to identify various abnormal events were implemented. Meanwhile, the preliminary idea that dynamic scheduling decision support system was put forward.
