Reducing the transportation sector energy consumption and implementing the nationalenergy-saving emission reduction policy has been the important work with the shortage of theinternational energy. Transport which plays an important role in the public transportation isimportant in public transport industry, and it’s energy consumption occupies a largeproportion.It is great significance for city residents that research on energy-saving operationof public transport industry and put forward the method to reduce energy consumption andsuggestions.It is also good for our country to achieve energy-saving emission reduction goals,reduce the transportation sector energy consumption, enhance the competitiveness of the busindustry and provide bus service more quality.In this paper, the city buses running energy technology research is the main content.Wecan get the Changsha City buses’ operating characteristics by analyzing the energy savingtechnology of home and aborad and researching on the bus. The automobile theory and busfuel economy were illuminated first and they were used to fuel consumption study the effectsfactors of bus fuel consumption. Several major energy saving theory of bus were summarized:bus fuel consumption saving theory, accelerate energy-saving theory,gear energy-savingtheory, energy-saving gear speed theory and vehicle configuration energy-saving theory.Theeffect of the transmission ratio for fuel consumption is carried out.The optimal transmissionratio for the engine is obtained by the GT-DRIVE.With the comparison of several bustransmissions,the selection principles of purchase new bus are obtained.At last,the running energy-saving technology of bus is researched.Doing some researchon the shift strategy, model configuration and operation of driver in the vehicle running.Energy-saving measures in the running have been proposed.
