Currently, with the rapid growth in the amount of hydroelectric power plants builton the rivers, higher requirements are emphasized on running security, operationreliability, and power quality. In this paper, a system which is suitable for thehydropower network monitoring and controlling is designed due to the low level ofhydropower management automation and information, the lack of supervision efficiency.The system implements near-real-time power management functions in electricitymonitoring and scheduling of hydropower station with the functions of remotemonitoring, transmission, scheduling and management into one.The hydropower centralized network monitoring and controlling system graduallytransfer the electricity consumption data, status information from remote controlterminal to central server. The system is divided into three levels according to thenetwork transmission structure with data acquisition terminal, data remote transmissionand receiving terminal, Web scheduling and management server. The remotemonitoring terminal adopts Telnet protocol to login the smart meters from distances andreads electric parameter data circularly. The data transmission terminal transfers electricparameter data to data receiving terminal through TCP network protocol using Socket.The transformer substation applies.NET Framework platform, employs object-oriented,secure and stable C#programming technique, and associates SQL Server database andWindows text database to establish a dynamic, near real-time network monitoringsystem. The system accomplishes hydropower production and line transmission electricparameter statistics, all network power generation and electricity consumption, powercurve drawing, over-limit alarming and alarm records, dam water line monitoring.The hydropower centralized network monitoring and controlling system has built adynamic near-real-time monitoring system which owns remote access and on-lineschedule and management functions. The system improves hydropower production andmanagement efficiency, scheduling information level, operation reliability, runningnormative in practical application. After testing and analyzing system performance, the reliability and stability of the system testifies the high value and enormous prospects inapplication.
