We have pay more attention to the humanistic quality,ecological environment, the newmodel of harmonious development of human and city in the process of urban development.Resident trip need the new ideal of "convenient and security","healthy and environmentprotection".Good landscape of city slow traffic system is the foundation of the new model ofcity development, which is help for the forcing of new resident travel idea. Based on thisunderstanding, the paper proceeds from the actual need of construction of urban slow trafficsystem landscape, discusses the theory origin of slow traffic system, the concepts of slowtraffic, slow traffic system and slow traffic landscape have been investigates. Based on thesetheories and combine the factors of Lanzhou city morphology, geographical environment andcity development, we analysis the present situation and the problems of the Lanzhou slowtraffic system landscape, and study the residents travel characteristics. A sampling survey onthe city major roads, subsidiary road, branch PPU, right-of-way distribution of Lanzhou citywere investigated, from the macro level, the model and target of Lanzhou slow traffic systemlandscape were proposed, as to micro level, the pattern design was made for Lanzhou slowtraffic landscape, the design was divided into three classes, they are main roads, subsidiaryroads and branch roads respectively.The specific research contents are as follows:In the second chapter, starting with some low traffic system landscape theory, such aspedestrian-and-vehicle dividing system theory, Shared traffic theory, new urbanism theory,green transportation etc. The slow traffic system planning practice of Copenhagen slowsystem design and Lyon, France’s public bike system were introduced in the paper. Urbanslow traffic system in our country history and present situation are summarized,emphatically analyzes the practice planning of slow traffic in Hangzhou, Shanghai and othercites, demonstrates the important relationship between the slow traffic system and citysustainable development. The idea of slow traffic system landscape,"safety, environmentprotection, health and convenient traffic" traffic environment is most important for theurban sustainable and harmonious development was put forward, which is the theoreticalbasis for the Lanzhou slow traffic system landscape building.In the third chapter, in the process of summarizing the concept of slow traffic system andthe low traffic system landscape, define the slow transport, slow traffic and landscape system.From the aspect of system theory, the three classification of the slow traffic system landscapewas carried out, they are pedestrian traffic era-single system slow traffic landscape, carriageera-double system slow traffic landscape and automobile traffic era-multiple system slowtraffic landscape,the common slow traffic patterns were summarized.In the fourth chapter, based on the demonstration of slow traffic landscape network, theconstruction of slow traffic landscape, and slow traffic subject, the Lanzhou slow traffic model and environment were investigated. On the other hands, based on the questionnaires,the travel time and behavior characteristics of Lanzhou residents were analyzed. The PPUcomposition and the right-of-way distribution of sections road in lanzhou city were carried onthe field investigation, choose representative main road, subsidiary roads, branch road,recorded the number of pedestrians, motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles in the differentperiods. Based on the analyzing the questionnaires, PPU composition and right-of-waydistribution date, combined with Lanzhou geographical condition,climate and environment,resident travel characteristics, the slow oriented mode-C model (Cycling andPedestrianodcnted, the ratio of slow traffic is higher50‰) was put forwarded, which issuitable for Lanzhou City.In the fifth chapter, through analyzing Lanzhou’s regional characteristics and trafficlayout, questionnaires and field survey, to analysis the Lanzhou slow traffic system landscapestatus and problems. This paper puts forward the macroscopic countermeasures of slow trafficsystem landscape. Through comparison analysis of Hangzhou and Shanghai slow trafficsystem landscapes, sum up experience that we can use for reference.In the sixth chapter, the slow traffic system model of "double axis and Multicenter" wasput forward at the macro-level, furthermore, this paper expounds and proves the constructiontarget of public bicycle system and pedestrian system, from these three aspects: main roads,subsidiary roads and branch roads, the following attributes were considered: node, route,space view element, Lanzhou slow traffic landscape of the typical road was designed at themicro-level, and the conceptual planning and design of slow traffic system landscape forYellow River Custom Tourist Line was made.
