At present, most of asphalt pavements in our country are the traditional Hot MixAsphalt (HMA). It not only consumes a lot of fuel energy, but also produces largequantities of harmful emissions and dust, which seriously affects the quality of theenvironment and the health of construction workers. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA)refers to the use of certain technical measures to reduce the mixing and compactiontemperatures about30℃, while its technical performance is not lower than HMA. Itcan also reduce energy consumption and environmental pollution,and achieves thepurpose of energy-saving and environment-protecting.This paper relies on the Natural Project of Chongqing science committee(101033)“The development and research of dynamic and static characteristics of thelow carbon SBS modified asphalt concrete”, to study on the performance comparisonof warm mix asphalt based on viscosity reducer and surface activity technology.Viscosity reducer Sasobit and surfactant DAT are added respectively into AH70#baseasphalt and SBS modified asphalt. This paper analyzes the effects of differentadditives on the properties of asphalt and asphalt mixture, and comprehensivelyevaluates their performance.This paper comprehensively analyzes the effects of different additives on theproperties of asphalt, by the penetration, softening, ductility, Brookfield viscosity andRTFOT aging tests. The results show that, Sasobit can improve the high temperatureperformance, temperature susceptibility and anti-aging performance of the asphalt,and also has the obvious effect of viscosity reduction. But it will reduce the lowtemperature performance. DAT has no significant effects on the viscosity andperformance of the asphalt. And this paper draws viscosity-temperature curves ofwarm mix base asphalt.This paper comprehensively analyzes the effects of different additives on theproperties of Sup-20asphalt mixture. The results show that, the cooling effect ofSasobit is about15℃~20℃,while the cooling effect of DAT is about20℃~25℃,the cooling effect of DAT is better than Sasobit. The high temperature rutting testshows that, Sasobit can greatly improve the high temperature performance of theasphalt mixture, and DAT can slightly improve the high temperature performance ofthe asphalt mixture. Immersion Marshall and cyclic freeze-thaw split tests show that,Sasobit will have a certain negative effect on the water stability of the asphalt mixture, and DAT can improve the water stability of the asphalt mixture. The low temperaturetensile test shows that, Sasobit will have a certain negative effect on the lowperformance of the asphalt mixture, and DAT has no obvious effect on the lowperformance of the asphalt mixture. The indirect tensile fatigue test shows that, thefatigue perperty of the asphalt mixture with Sasobit is better than the asphalt mixturewith DAT, and separately establishes the warm mix asphalt’s fatigue model betweenthe fatigue life and stress ratio, temperature.The dynamic creep shows that, theresistance capacity to deformation of the asphalt mixture with Sasobit is better thanthe asphalt mixture with DAT, and establishes Burgers model of the warm mix asphalt.The dynamic modulus test shows that, the high temperature performance of theasphalt mixture with Sasobit is better than the asphalt mixture with DAT, andestablishes the dynamic modulus lord curve and time-temperature transformationfactor of the warm mix asphalt.
