In present, the asphalt pavement in road construction mostly adopts the traditional material HMA(Hot Mix Asphalt).For HMA's requirement of high temperat -ure, asphalt and aggregate must be heated to a high level in the process of constructio -n.It not only consumes a large amount of energy but also emits abundant of emissions and fumes which threaten the surrounding environment and the health of workers during the operation of produce and construct. For these reasons, a new energy-saving and environment-protecting product WMA(Warm Mix Asphalt)is developed to fetch up the shortages of HMA.WMA is a kind of mix asphalt technology which can force asphalt to be mixed and compacted in a comparatively low temperature by the means of reducing its viscosity with the help of certain techniques.Meanwhile,it could maintain its performance which dose not below that of HMA.Warm Mix Asphalt is an environment-friendly and energy-saving materials, it is by reducing the viscosity of bitumen to lower the Construction temperature of Asphalt Mixture. The paper mainly makes evaluation of the test for Various indexs of asphalt binder and Various pavement performance of WMA.The results showed that: the both warm-mixed modifier (in particular the EC120) can effectively reduce the Construction temperature of Asphalt Mixture than ordinary asphalt mixture low around 30℃; The conventional indicators of Warm-mixed Asphalt are expected to meet regulatory requirements; By SHRP test and other tests to test high temperature performance of the asphalt have improved greatly, with the low-temperature performance of asphalt as it is more or less the same; Pavement performance of Warm Mix Asphalt (water stability, high temperature stability , the low-temperature anti -cracking and fatigue properties) have improved to varying degrees. This shows that the both warm-mixed modifier (in particular the EC120) not only have lower Construction temperature of Asphalt Mixture but also make a good pavement performance of Asphalt Mixture. As a result, this the warm-mixed modifier has obvious economic and social role of energy saving and environmental protection.
