The brake testing is one of the most important Automotive safety testing. The braking performance is directly related to driving safety. The project of brake testing is also the major component of university laboratory constructions.There are two main detection methods of brake testing:the testing on the road and the testing on the test bench. Considering the development status of the brake testing and the existing situation of the automotive laboratory, this paper designed the control system of roller reaction force brake tester. The system used the computer as the control core. The main purpose of this design is to meet the teaching demand which is to show the workflow of the brake testing and to get the test data.This paper identified using the computers and virtual instrument technology as the core of the detection system and designed the control circuit and the detection system software. The software consisted of three parts:User login module, detection and control module, and the results stored module. System development used Graphical programming and selected the Access database management system to manage the test data. The user login system and the brake testing system which was designed by Lab VIEW8.5and Access, had a good interactive interface which can make the operators to complete the testing work more conveniently and simply. The control procedures can complete the task of automated inspection. The program is also designed the manual control procedures to facilitate the operator to debug the system.The operation of the system is simple and convenient. It can accurately measure and record record the various parameters of the brake test. The final results can be reported and printed. This design can meet the requirements of the teaching demand.
