Deep excavation involving multi-discipline engineering and many aspects is acomplicated system. If don’t pay attention to it, it can cause huge economic losses andsocial impacts. In recent years, deep excavations appear constantly with the rapiddevelopment of city construction, which causes humanity much more attention. Therefore,how to reduce the rate of recurrence and losses of the deep excavation engineering accidentbecomes a pressing research topic.Firstly, this paper described the characteristic of deep excavation engineering and thedeep excavation accident occurring in recent years were statistically analysed to find out thecause of the accident. At the same time, the basic knowledge of risk management wasintroduced. Secondly, the process of deep excavation risk management was deeplyinvestigated. And the risk of deep excavation was practically managed with taking thecurrent construction project organization, the experience of management and the mode ofmanagement. Finally, at the base of engineering example, the macroscopic and microscopicof deep excavation was deeply analyzed. The expert investigation and decompositionmethod were usued to identify the risk existing in the engineering and the analytichierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method were choosed to evaluateengineering risk and then the corresponding risk control measures were put forward. At thesame time, the curve between accumulated horizontal displacement and diversification oftime was drawed at the base of the monitoring data of deep excavation. The main cause ofdeep excavation deformation was found out with the engineering condition and naturalenvironment and then controlling measures were formulated.Deep excavation engineering is a risky project, and the risk management about it has acertain practical significance. In the paper, some views about risk practice and assessmentof management were put forward, which gives an idea to deep excavation engineeringmanagers identifying, analyzing and reacting to risk. And it plays a facilitating role in thespreading of deep excavation engineering risk management thought.
