In our country, the distribution of health resources is very disproportionate, so thepatients in remote areas are difficult to see a doctor.Besides, the existing medicalresources of primary hospitals can’t be used fully, which exacerbates the waste anddisproportionate distribution of medical health resources. In order to overcome theseobstacles and solve the difficulty of poor access and high fee, telemedicine, a kind ofnew technology and medical mode, can realize the sharing and guardianship of remotemedical information. Finally it ensures that everyone is equal to get medical and healthresources of our country, improve people’s physical condition, and concern health care.In this background, basing on the technology of medical electronics, sensor, ZigBee andGSM, this paper designed a wireless telemedicine health monitoring system for multiplephysiological parameters in the application field of wireless sensor network.According to the research of application status in telemedicine and wirelesscommunication technology, the solution of a wireless remote medical health monitoringsystem for multiple physiological parameters was proposed in this paper. It analyzed thestructure and function repuirements of the overall system. Then the hardware platformof system was designed, which used the wireless radio frequency chip CC2430of TIcompany as the main controller. Software platform of system was also devised on thebasis of ZigBee protocol stack. Finally, the test and analysis of the system has beendone.The system mainly includes five parts: the sensor node(terminal node), the node ofwireless gateway, GSM network, remote monitoring center and users. By carrying smallportable detection device of medical parameters or sensor nodes, the physiologicalparameters of pulse, body temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, bloodpressure and blood glucose concentration of users were detected and showed with datareal-timely and accurately. And the communication between different nodes could berealized through ZigBee wireless network, also, the data was sent to the node ofwireless gateway by wireless network of ZigBee. Then, according to GSM network, thephysiological parameters were sent to the remote medical monitoring center in the form of short messages. At the same time, the doctor or experts would conduct a completediagnosis and sent the corrseponding treatment plan back to the user. The experimentshave proved that the system has the characteristics of low-cost, low power consumption,high stability and easy extension. Therefore, it can be widely used in home monitoringto build telemedicine monitoring system of families and communities.
