With the increasing of industry and the improving of residents electricity consumption, the work of power management becomes more and more hard in power supply department. The traditional manual meter reading method cannot adapt the development of power system automation. Wireless power automation meter reading system based on the CC2430 ZigBee technology chip was designed in this paper.In this paper, using ZigBee protocol as a technology carrier and power metering as the application of object, a wireless network node device for power metering reading was designed. In hardware, node uses ZigBee technology chip CC2430 as transceiver and power metering chip ATT7022B with SPI interface add some more corresponding peripheral voltage, current mutual inductance circuit as the measuring circuit. Meanwhile, node uses MCU and IO port in CC2430 chip simulate SPI interface for operating ATT7022B and uses serial communication interface of CC2430 chip via RS232 level conversion as the communication interface for PC. Finally, the hardware design of wireless automation metering system was completed. In software, using ZigBee protocol stack to complete the network node. At the bottom of ZigBee protocol, using C language program for driving ATT7022B and 51 series MCU and IO port in CC2430 chip simulate SPI interface drive power metering chip ATT7022B as well as using ZigBee protocol stack to organize star network, tree network. In PC-side, using serial debugging assistant observe the received data of coordination from RFD to verify the feasibility of the design.Finally, the monitoring software for data monitoring center was designed. Monitoring software program with VC++6.0, using MSCOMM control to operate PC serial communication interface for monitoring the power metering data from RFD and saving the data to the database in PC for view the historical data at any time. Meanwhile, this paper analyzed the measuring data of power metering chip, compared the measuring data after calibration software by standard measure device, The measuring data have small error, and achieved the desired results. The whole system design was completed and successful.
